Submission and Examination dates for Project2: Academic year 1431-1432 (2010-2011)

Dear students,

Hereafter Project2 dates of submission and presentations:

- Submission: 24 january 2011
- Presentations: 29, 30, and 31 january 2011.

Software installation must be done on 25 and 26 january 2011. It is mandatory to have your software available in our labs at 26 january 2011.

Note that hese are firm deadlines.

Special equipment requirements and software installation.

Dear students,

Please make sure that you put a label on the PC where you installed your software, before the presentation. The label should include:

1- Project Title
2- Group Number
3- Supervisor Name

Please do not change the labs that have been assigned to you on the schedule before checking with Cony.

Also, if you need special equipment for your project2 presentation, contact Cony and Bahia as soon as possible.

If you have exams on saturday 26 june and sunday 27 june, please send an email to: ksu.it.project@gmail.com, before friday 16 june 2010, and give exactly the slot of time in which you are not available for project2 presentation.

Requests received after the deadline will not be taken into consideration.

Project2 docmentation submission and software installation.

Dear students,

I would like to remind you that the submission of project2 documentation is due to 21/06/2010.

Time: from 12:00 to 1:00.

Location: Building 20, second floor, room 94.

Copies:

5 hard copies to be handed in by one of the group members. One copy is for your supervisor, three copies are for your committee members, and the last copy is for the projects coordinator.

Since other academic staff may be interested in reading your proposals, please submit (in addition to the hard copies) 1 soft copy to ksu.it.project@gmail.com. The subject of your email should include the following information: Group Number, Project Number, Project Title, and Supervisor Name.

The Software release should be installed on our lab computers/ available online by: 22/06/2010 and 23/06/2010. Please make sure that you put a label on the PC where you installed your software, before the presentation, once labs are assigned by Cony (1 week before the presetation). The label should include:

1- Project Title
2- Group Number
3- Supervisor Name

I would like to remind you that the submission date of your project documentation is due to Monday, February 1. Here are some important information.

Time: 10:00 - 13:00.

Please make sure you submit on time. Delays will be penalized.

Guest Speaker on Theoretical Background on Computing Ethics

Dear Project 2 students,

As part of the graduation projects seminars this term, we will have a seminar on “Theoretical Background on Computing Ethics”. Our guest is Miss. Fadwa Al –Ghreimil. Miss. Al-Ghreimil is a business lecturer at Prince Sultan University.

The seminar will cover the following topics:

1. The meaning of computer ethics and why it is different from other traditional ethical practices.
2. The importance of computer ethics and especially how it relates to the students
3. The main theories developed by philosophers to be used in analyzing ethical situations.
4. Some cases to explain those theories.
